The University’s libraries are open throughout the summer

Library opening times are altered regularly to accommodate the study and research needs of its users throughout the year.

For July and most of August, the Hartley library will open Monday – Friday from 08:30, and on Saturday and Sunday from 09:00.

Other library opening times vary. You can see full details here:  http://library.soton.ac.uk/opening

In the Hartley library, the Academic Skills Hub will be open to provide advice and guidance on a full range of academic skills from 10:00 12:00 and 14:00 16:00, Monday – Friday. If you’re unable to visit the Hub, there’s information on all aspects of academic skills on the library’s website: http://library.soton.ac.uk/sash

The Academic Skills Collections, available in most of our libraries, is focused to help you develop your skills. You can find these books through WebCat: http://www-lib.soton.ac.uk/WebCa

Please bear in mind that the Hartley library is undergoing extensive refurbishment this summer and your preferred study space may be closed or noisier than normal. Library staff will guide and advise you about the quietest and most comfortable spaces for study, but if you prefer to go to a different library, you’re welcome to use the National Oceanographic Library at Southampton Docks: http://library.soton.ac.uk/nol

There’s no parking available at the site, but you can use the U1C bus to get there. Please remember to take your University ID card with you.

You don’t need to be physically in the libraries to use library services: off campus and away from Southampton there’s a full range of online resources which you can use via the Southampton Virtual Environment: http://southampton.likn.co/isolutions/students/southampton-virtual-environment.page

If you need support while you’re using these, library staff will be available to help on the webchat service throughout the summer.
