Staff and students: have your say about Southampton Common

The Southampton Common Forum (SCF), a new organisation which is working with the City Council to improve the Common, is inviting staff and students to complete a short online survey about their use of the space.

The survey is open to everyone whether they live or work in Southampton or are visiting the city.

SCF is a focal point for issues affecting the Common for everyone who uses, enjoys or appreciates it.

Adam Wheeler, Chair of the SCF and a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor, says:

“We are working to improve the Common for all those who use and enjoy it, however they use it, including walking, running, cycling, commuting, playing or nature watching.

“We are keen to hear the views of all University staff and students, whether they regularly use the Common or not. Please share the survey link and encourage your colleagues, friends and family to have their say too.”

The Southampton Common is 330 acres of open space within the city, providing recreational, sporting and play facilities and is popular both with local residents and people visiting the area.
