The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Christopher Snowden has opened an event for Survey Engagement Champions highlighting the importance of the Staff Engagement Survey and how it complements the University’s ‘Simply better’ strategy.
The Champions were attending a meeting, hosted by Andy Cast, Interim Director of Business Partnering, People and Strategy, to discuss plans for next year’s survey.
Sir Christopher challenged the Champions to help their colleagues understand that filling in the survey is a step towards making change happen.
Following the last survey in 2016, Champions worked with their faculty/departments on action plans to address issues raised in the survey and to increase awareness about changes made as a result of the feedback.
You can read about the action plan successes from the Library, the Faculty of Medicine and International Student Recruitment in the latest edition of Southampton Connects Staff. Look for the article entitled ‘Meet the Team – Engagement Champions’.
Since the last survey results, the Champions have met every quarter to share best practice and provide updates on their action plans. These meetings will take place monthly as the next survey draws closer.
In August, Andy Cast will share the progress of the action plans and initial plans for the next survey with the University Executive Board.
