Hats off to over 5,000 graduates who received their undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral awards last month.
Graduates and their families from around the world met on Highfield Campus to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Vice Chancellor Professor Sir Christopher Snowden said:
“Graduation is a highlight of the academic year, not just for our graduates but for the whole University.
“It is a time for us all to celebrate and reflect on the experiences and achievements of this year’s graduating class, with family, friends and fellow graduates.”
The Student Communications Team were busy capturing photos and videos live throughout graduation. Take a look at a selection of highlights below:
It was a double celebration for Thomas Aley, Meng Software Engineering (left), who took the opportunity to propose to his fiancée Charlotte (right).
The first cohort of Electronic and Electrical Engineering students, who studied at the University’s Malaysia Campus graduated.
International footballer, Ini-Abasi Umotong, met her goal of balancing her football career and her studies. Ini even managed to achieve First Class Honours! Find out more on this story.
Graduates and their families showed their countries’ colours by wearing traditional dress.
There was plenty of Pimms!
Families got involved in a serious amount of selfies.
One of our graduates had some amazingly well-dressed pooches accompanying her on her graduation day!
It wouldn’t have been graduation without a number of hats flying through the Highfield grounds.
Thank you to the hundreds of members of staff who support, organise and run graduation every year.
We wish the class of 2017 the very best of luck in the future!
