Nationwide membership scheme introduced for Sport and Wellbeing members

Southampton has joined a nationwide sports membership scheme, which means that members will now be able to access other university sports facilities from 1 October 2017.

Students from universities that participate in the scheme, which is led by British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS), will benefit from free use of any facilities owned by participating Higher Education Institutions between 1 September and 31 August each year.

You can find out about the other institutions involved on the BUCS website. Please note: members must have an annual Peak Performer membership to be eligible for the scheme.

James Topping, Assistant Manager Sport and Wellbeing, explains how the new scheme will bring greater value to annual members:

“As part of our commitment to the University community, Sport and Wellbeing are pleased to be part of this national programme to link university sports facilities together. This will give students the choice to access a range of facilities across the country at all participating universities.”
