The University has been re-certified to the international standard ISO 14001:2015 for the way it manages its impact on the environment.
Our environmental management system (EMS) was audited at the end of July, and the University was re-certified to the international standard – known as ISO 14001:2015.
We continue to sit alongside some of the world’s leading companies with the ISO certification, including IBM and Rolls Royce.
The University first received ISO 14001 certification in July 2014, following three years’ work to implement a system to protect the environment, prevent pollution and ensure that we achieve legal compliance on our campuses.
Alongside the external audit the environmental team organises a programme of regular internal audits as a way to maintain the EMS.
Colleagues may find that the ISO 14001:2015 certification can be noted on research grant proposals, to make them even more competitive.
