Anyone who currently engages casual, temporary or fees-based workers. whether directly or through Tempbank, needs to know about these changes.
This mandatory process is launching on 2 October 2017. This means payment will only be made to your casual workers by following the new steps.
What’s changing?
The main changes to be aware of:
• All casual workers will need to have a Casual Worker Permit before they commence work.
• A new online form will replace the HR8 and Fees/Casual Request Form.
• Both the request for a casual worker and the timesheet will be online rather than paper forms.
• A timesheet will be available on the website for casual workers to download, compete and email for authorisation.
• ‘TempBank’ will be re-launched as: ‘UniWorkforce’.
• All workers appointed by UniWorkforce will be now referred to/ known as a ‘casual worker’
FAQs
I have fees/casual or temporary workers on my team. What action do I need to take?
• Casual workers already on payroll will be sent a communication about picking up their Casual Worker Permit. New requests for workers will be through the new process.
• Remember if you haven’t seen a valid Casual Worker Permit after 2 October they need to register with UniWorkforce before they can start work.
How do I access the new forms?
Everything you need to know will be on the new web pages www.soton.ac.uk/uniworkforce. You will need access to our eRecruitment system, Stonefish. Most senior staff and line managers will have used the system to recruit permanent staff and will have access. If you do not have access, please click here.
