Southampton University Symphony Orchestra (SUS0) will be performing a memorial concert for the 20th anniversity of Princess Diana’s death, in Turner Sims, 11 November at 15:00. Book your tickets here.
The concert will feature filmed portraits by local Southampton artist Melanie Sanderson accompanying the Queen of Hearts Symphony by American composer, Craig Cervantes.
SUSO, established in 1919 and nearing its 100th anniversary, is the oldest amateur orchestra in Hampshire, as well as one of the leading university orchestras in the UK.
SUSO’s feature programme for the season includes orchestral works from Eastern Europe and Russia with the first main concert taking place on 9 December, at 19:30 in Turner Sims.
Later in the year, audiences can experience the virtuosity of internationally acclaimed violinist, Dunja Levrava showcasing Dvorak’s Violin Concerto; a piece rarely performed by amateur orchestras.
