The Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节) is the second most important festival in Chinese culture after the Chinese New Year. Families get together for the evening celebration to light lanterns, eat moon cakes and appreciate the brightest full moon of the year.
The Confucius Institute (CI) will host a Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival Event & Southampton CI Day 2017 to celebrate this occasion on 11 Oct 2017 from 11:30 – 14:00 at North Corridor, Avenue Campus.
The event will provide a combination of entertainments in the form of traditional music and performance. There will also be opportunities to observe and practice traditions such as the Chinese tea ceremony, Chinese calligraphy and paper-cutting.
All are welcome and registration for this event isn’t necessary.
Attendees will be provided with free refreshments.
