Professor Colin Grant, Vice-President (International), is leading a visit this week to Singapore and Malaysia with colleagues from the University.
Amongst those joining Professor Grant are Dr Gill Rider, University Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Council and Professor Peter Smith from Electronics and Computing Science.
The visit starts in Singapore where the group will visit Nanyang Technological University, taking in The Photonics Institute, a joint venture with Southampton’s Optoelectronics Research Centre, and A*STAR, the country’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research.
In Malaysia, Professor Grant and colleagues will meet with the Ministry of Higher Education after being welcomed at the British High Commissioner’s residence by High Commissioner, Vicki Treadell, and Deputy High Commissioner, Paul Rennie. The delegation will also visit the University of Southampton Malaysia Campus amongst engagements in Johor Bahru.
The visit will also include alumni receptions in Singapore, at the British High Commission, and in Kuala Lumpur.
