Mentoring offers a range of benefits, whether you are a student who would benefit from receiving support from someone more experienced than you, or you are a mentor supporting a student to achieve their personal goals.
The Careers and Employability Service runs a Career Mentoring Programme, which facilitates students in making the transition to the graduate job market. It is now recruiting both mentors and students (mentees) to its programme.
Here’s what a mentee and mentor from last year’s programme had to say:
“One of the best activities outside my degree that has enriched my knowledge and directly contributed to my future career” – Mentee, 2016-17
“I would thoroughly recommend the mentoring process to colleagues and friends, as it is a great way of passing on experience and advice to the next generation of students, who are entering a complex and difficult work environment” – Mentor, 2016-17
