Geography hosts seminar from leading scholar on youth and social justice

Geography and Environment is proud to be hosting a seminar with Professor Stuart C. Aitken, of San Diego State University on 16 November 2017, 16:00 – 17:00, Building 46, Room 2003.

Stuart is regarded as one of the leading figures in geographical research on children and youth, families and fatherhood.

The theme of his seminar, ‘Dispossession, Erasure, and Young People’s Rights’, should be of interest to a wide variety of staff and students working on issues of family, youth, the state and migration, in particular those working or studying in the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences and Mathematics.

Dr Andrew Power, Associate Professor in Human Geography, says:

“This is a great opportunity to welcome such a well-known international figure in human geography to our Faculty. He is regarded as the leading ‘go to’ person for research on geographies of fatherhood, family and youth and he brings a wealth of experience to his seminar which I hope generates fresh thought and debate.”

Further details about this event are available on the Geography website or contact Dr Andrew Power
