Guest lecture: The Integration of Health and Social Care or The Hunting of the Snark!

In his upcoming guest lecture, Professor Croisdale-Appleby traces the development of integrating health and social care in England over the past 20 years.

The lecture will be held on Thursday, 23 November, at 16:30 in Lecture Theatre 2, South Academic Block at University Hospital, Southampton.

Please book here.

Professor Croisdale-Appleby will explore the challenges integration brings, including leadership and the need for new roles which extend the capacity of health and care professionals to deliver the innovative services that must be developed to serve emerging and future needs.

Professor David Croisdale-Appleby’s interests span medicine, health, social care, criminal and civil law and science. He holds many ministerial appointments in health and education, and professorships in a wide variety of disciplines. He is the author of the Independent Review of Social Work Education, Re-visioning Social Work Education, published by the government in 2014 which forms the basis for the current reforms in social work education and training.

His work is focused on improving the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged people in this country and internationally (he is the UK Ambassador for the legacy project of former President Nelson Mandela, the new children’s hospital for the 15 countries of Southern Africa), and he has chaired many organisations, representing and promoting their interests.
