Seven of our students feature in a new video about the 2017 Seeds for the Future Programme which is run by Chinese technology firm, Huawei.
The elite internship programme started in collaboration with the University in 2011 when only three students were invited to go to China.
Since that time, the scheme has grown and has been rolled out to other universities. There are still limited places and we are the only University to have been successful in securing seven places for the last three consecutive years.
The programme offers the most amazing opportunity for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) undergraduate students to spend four weeks in China in the summer. Students must be UK passport holders.
Students have an opportunity to learn basic Mandarin, tour some of China’s most famous attractions, such as the Great Wall and The Forbidden City. They also visit the Huawei headquarters in Schenzhen, take some technical training and have a trip to their F1 Exhibition Centre and Research and Development laboratories.

The 2018 Seeds for the Future Programme will launch imminently through the University’s Careers and Employability Service, so students are advised to look out for further information on SUSSED.
