University Challenged 2018 is now open for entries. For more information, including how to apply, please click here.
Alumni are invited to join current staff and students in forming mixed teams for our own version of the popular quiz show. It runs just like on TV, but the questions aren’t quite as tough!
The University Challenged competition will run on Tuesday evenings between 30 January and 13 March 2018. The deadline for entries is 12 January 2018.
Open to all students and staff, and University alumni, this is a great way to meet members of the University outside your own circles.
The project lead, Tony Curran, said of last year’s competition:
“It has been fantastic to see such great take up for our University Challenged competition – all 8 faculties and professional services were represented in the teams. And congratulations once more to the 2017 winning team ‘J Power’, consisting of Stephen Barnes – Chemistry Education, Oliver Hope – Medicine, Matt Johnson – Health Sciences, Jacob Power – Philosophy.”
A plaque in the Hartley Library near the help desk displays the details of University Challenged winners.
Thinking of taking part? You can enter as an individual and be matched to a team, or you can sign up as a team of four: composition should be two undergraduates, one postgraduate and one member of staff. If you can find three out of the four, please enter as a team, and an alumni entrant will be added to complete your group. Click here for more information.
