Where can I study? #ExamZen2018

Exam season is fast approaching, and we know how crucial study space is for our students.

Below, the Student Comms team has compiled some helpful info, links and lists to help you find the space that’s right for you.

Dice on a table which spell out 'Study'

The obvious choice: the Hartley Library on Highfield Campus offers a wealth of space and resources (you can access floor plans by clicking here and details of group study spaces by clicking here), but it is extremely popular and can be busy during peak times.

Opening times: you can access opening times for all libraries across the University’s sites by clicking here.

Room finder app and room booking system: the room finder app allows you to search for specific types of spaces. Click here to view the app. Once you’ve located a suitable space, you can request a booking via the following link: https://roombooking.soton.ac.uk/WebRoomBooking/default.aspx

During the Christmas break: did you know there are specific revision spaces made available across the Christmas period (Monday 18 December 2017 – Sunday 7 January 2018, weekdays and weekends from 09:00 – 21:00)? Click here for more information.

Specifically for mature students: Room 1103, Building 65, Avenue Campus is equipped with desks, USB chargers, secure storage and soft seating. The room is available to use for all UG mature students and those studying Masters programmes.

Home sweet home: using the Southampton Virtual Environment (SVE), you can access your Uni documents from your home computer or laptop. Click here to be taken to SVE. You can find help guides on using this service through the following link: https://southampton.likn.co/isolutions/students/southampton-virtual-environment.page#1131

Please note, you won’t be able to access all the specialist software you’d normally be able to whilst working on a University workstation.

Halls Study Space: Mayflower residents can benefit from a purpose built study area near the common room. For students living in other halls visit, https://southampton.likn.co/studentservices/student-life.page

There are a number of study spaces across other halls sites which will be publicised on the University’s Residences Facebook page.
