Global Initiator Scheme: call for applications

Professor Colin Grant, Vice-President (International) and the International Office are pleased to announce additional funding to support the delivery of the international strategy through the creation of new Global Partnerships Awards.

The Awards will promote the University’s strategic priorities and raise its international profile, specifically with our priority partners, institutions with which we have established links.

The scheme will have dedicated funds to initiate new research and educational collaborations, host international fellows, support our PhD scholars and make an impact on policy.

The first series of awards are part of the Global Initiator Scheme, which will support joint international research or education-related activities, with an international dimension, and which are in the early stages of development.

Early career researchers (PGRs, postdocs and junior faculty members) will receive support to visit one of the international partners to establish and cultivate research links at an institutional and individual level.

Academic staff will have the opportunity to lead workshops between Southampton and priority partner colleagues to develop research, teaching or capacity building projects. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 3 January 2018.

Please note, this call is open only to activities with priority partners (full list available here) which will start at the beginning of 2018 and will be completed by 31 July 2018.

A briefing will take place on Monday 11 December 2017 in the Senate Room (Highfield Campus) between 13:00-14:00, please register your attendance here.
