University of Southampton Voices with Southampton Music Hub present ‘The Bells of Paradise’

University of Southampton Voices (USV) and the Southampton Music Hub present a Christmas concert, ‘The Bells of Paradise’ on Friday 15 December 19:30, Swaythling Methodist Hall.

2016 Christmas Lights

The concert will be a delightful collection of carols and Christmas songs from around the world and through the ages arranged by Harvey Brough, Turner Sims Professor of Music.

For this concert, USV will be joined by children’s choirs from Swaythling Primary and Cantell School, international vocalist Clara Sanabras and James Murray on piano. Festive refreshments will also be available.

The 60-strong choir, made up from staff members and students from the University, together with singers from the city, is an open access choir.  They aspire to the highest standards and have presented some amazing concerts, including ‘The Year of Jubilee’, about slavery, and ‘Music on the Mind’, a piece about mental health issues which was performed at Turner Sims.

Tickets are either £10 or £5 (unwaged), and can be purchased from: www.brownpapertickets.com
