John Hansard Gallery announce plans for 2018

John Hansard Gallery, part of Arts at University of Southampton, are delighted to announce that their new purpose-built home in Studio 144 in Southampton City Centre will officially open to the public on 12 May 2018.

Opening with a headline exhibition of works by Gerhard Richter as part of ARTIST ROOMS, this first exhibition will celebrate the breadth and impact of one of the world’s most significant contemporary artists.

In advance of their official opening, Studio 144 will be launched with ‘Southampton Celebrates‘ on 16 February 2018, in collaboration with Southampton City Council, Nuffield Southampton Theatres and City Eye.

From Friday 16 February to Saturday 24 February 2018, John Hansard Gallery will present a dynamic programme featuring artists Rhona Byrne, Rob Crosse, Sam Laughlin, Elaine Mitchener, Hetain Patel, Stair/Slide/Space and the Department for Doing Nothing, in partnership with Southampton Youth Offending Service, Compass School and InFocus Training Ltd.
