OneWeb: What’s next?

The digital team have recently launched a blog aimed at maintaining the high level of communication and engagement the OneWeb project has generated thus far, the latest blog post can be read here.

Over the past two months the team have held a series of workshops to capture the ‘user needs’ of the broad range of audiences across all UK campus locations.

Ayala Gordon, Head of Digital said of the workshops:

“The User Needs Workshops, which took place in November, featured an important part of our discovery. We visited all campuses and met staff and students to understand the external user needs of many of our audiences. User research will inform an important part of the process and we already know that we will need to carry out some additional research into specific audiences to validate our thinking into their behaviour, decisions and eventually design. It is important that we continue to ask them for feedback at every stage of the project.”

The next stages of the OneWeb project are:

  • To present the business case to University Executive Board (UEB) early in 2018.
  • To invite a selected group of representatives from across the University to participate in a specially formed Advisory Group prior to a presentation to UEB.
  • To keep in touch with all those who attended the OneWeb Workshops, to keep the conversation going.

A download of the presentation deck from the workshops can be found here.
