Funding call open for ESRC Impact Acceleration Account

The University’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) has recently been allocated a further £304k and will run until March 2019.

The ESRC IAA, managed by Research and Innovation Services, provides flexible funding opportunities for a wide range of Knowledge Exchange (KE) activities with non-academic partners, with the intention of enhancing the impact of excellent social science research. Applications must focus on clearly defined KE activities and include substantive user engagement or demonstrate genuine collaboration with partners.

There are three types of scheme being funded:

Impact Secondments – Flexible secondments both outwards and inwards with external partners. Secondments with business organisations are strongly encouraged and also inward or two-way secondments.

Impact Projects – Projects to take research findings and develop them to meet the needs, challenges and opportunities presented by external partners (both nationally and internationally). Projects with a business partner are strongly encouraged.

Relationship Building – To support activities that bring together our social scientists with interested organisations, in order to discuss key challenges. Proposals must include evidencing of potential impact and events involving existing or potential university strategic partners are encouraged.

Applications are welcome from members of any department or faculty and applicants must be University-employed (Education, Research and Enterprise) ERE staff.

This call closes at 12:00 on Tuesday 13 February 2018.

Awards for this call have to be spent by 31 March 2019.
