Make a difference: become a Student Fundraiser

The University is looking for confident, enthusiastic and dedicated students to join our Student Fundraising Team for the second half of the 2017-18 telephone appeals.

As a Student Fundraiser, you’ll help to engage our alumni with the many ways they can stay involved with their former institution. These include opportunities such as attending events, volunteering or donating to support various University-wide projects, including the new Centre for Cancer Immunology.

Being a Student Fundraiser is an excellent way to make a difference here at Southampton, helping current and future students have the best experience possible – while also helping to fundraise for some of the our most exciting and ground-breaking research.

As a Student Fundraiser, you’ll work on Highfield Campus in the evenings for at least nine hours per week and earn £8.21p/h. You will develop excellent communication and negotiation skills that will be of great benefit to you in your future career.

Here’s what some of our students had to say about being a Student Fundraiser last year:

“I enjoyed being part of a project that is fundraising for such an important cause as well as becoming more confident in myself.”

“As well as getting to know more about the University, fundraising for amazing projects and building my confidence, I loved the social side – it’s a very fun team.”

“What I enjoyed was speaking to alumni about their University experience, their career since graduating and seeing their genuine desire to give back to the University.”

“It’s just like joining a society – but you get paid!”
