Professor Sir Christopher Snowden, President and Vice-Chancellor, said:

“Colin has made immense contributions to the University, from developing a compelling new international strategy, creating vibrant new partnerships across the globe and championing international students and alumni, through to his broader contributions at the University Executive Board. We are enormously grateful to him for his energetic commitment to the University, and we wish him well for the future.”

Professor Colin Grant said:

“It has been a great privilege to lead Southampton’s international strategy and to work with so many talented colleagues and students, and to meet so many of our extraordinary alumni across the globe. I will be very sorry to leave, but the attraction of a very broad new role, in a leading university closer to the family home, has proved hard to resist. I have had the pleasure of working with Sir Christopher for more than a decade and I look forward to keeping in touch and to watching the University thrive under his leadership.”

A recruitment search for his replacement as Vice-President (International) will start shortly.
