The University’s innovators continue to bask in the limelight of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 in Las Vegas.
During the first two days of this year’s Show, researchers and students from Southampton’s Future Worlds incubator have enjoyed attention from potential collaborators, the media and representatives from overseas governments.
Amongst the highlights to date are a visit by a press team from Minnesota to film the next-generation video analytics developed by Aura Vision Labs; interest from a Japanese government contact in the Handy Kanji language and Japanese writing app; and an interview filmed by CESTV with Future Worlds Director, Dr Reuben Wilcock on why the Show is a great place for start-ups (which you can watch here).
Dr Wilcock and his colleague Sophie Sellers also rubbed shoulders with Dutch royalty, meeting Prince Constantijn who was due to speak at CES.
The entrepreneurs behind Aura Vision Labs, Daniel Martinho-Curbishley and Jaime Lomeli, also caught up with Stuart Sumner, Editorial Director of Computing who wrote an online feature focused on their technological breakthrough.
All of this and more about Future World’s activities at CES 2018 can be found on the daily blog, via Twitter and on Facebook.
