Event: How to Lead a Happy Life in the Midst of Uncertainty

Our Faith and Reflection Centre is delighted to welcome to the University, as part of their European and UK tour, two Buddhist nuns (Masters Yuan Xue and Yuan Wang), for an exclusive talk entitled: How to Lead a Happy Life in the Midst of Uncertainty.

This event will take place on Thursday 8 February from 17:00 – 19:00 in Room 2011, Building 5, Highfield Campus.

You can book your place here.

The talk will focus on two central ideas in Buddhist thought: the importance of the compassionate mind and an acceptance of impermanence as part of existence. This event, which is open to everyone, will discuss how we can find happiness and cultivate compassion, both for ourselves and others, amid the changing challenges of daily life.

Masters Yuan Xue and Yuan Wang studied at universities in the United States prior to committing to the path of a Buddhist nun. They spend their time sharing the teachings and methods learned through their many years of study and practice in Tibetan Buddhism.

Attendees will be invited to join in a short meditation as part of the presentation. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have.

This talk is open to current students and staff of the University only.  There are a limited number of places available, so you must book your ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
