The campaign for the Centre for Cancer Immunology would like to thank everyone who joined in with our #WearingWhite activity last week to mark World Cancer Day and to celebrate the campaign reaching its £25m fundraising target.
There was fantastic support from both staff and students across the University, and an overwhelming response on social media. Over 200 people took part in the photoshoot at Highfield and many of you sent in #WearingWhite photos from across the campuses and even as far as Malaysia and Africa.
The campaign reached new audiences far and wide on social media – with one post reaching 1.5m people, thanks to the support of Coldpay sharing it on its Facebook page! The campaign received amazing media coverage, culminating in Professor Christian Ottensmeier and one of our clinical trial patients, Charlotte Moss, appearing live on the Victoria Derbyshire Show on Friday.
A judging panel is in the process of choosing the best #WearingWhite photos to win the drumsticks, signed by Coldplay drummer Will Champion, as well as three runner-up University hoodies. We will be in contact with the lucky winners shortly.
Thank you to everyone who made this day a success and once again to everyone who helped the campaign cross the £25m target finish line.
