Professor Endersby is Division Head, Cyber and Information Systems Division at Dstl and will talk about her career and how it has developed alongside the defence sector. Penny spent ten years as a researcher into armour systems, ending as the UK expert on electric and intelligent armours.

She led several groups in Dstl’s Physical Sciences Department before taking over as manager in 2009.  During this time she was appointed a fellow of the Institute of Physics and served as a member of their governing council.

In 2012, Penny transferred to lead the Information Management department, leading to her appointment as Head of Cyber and Information Systems Division in 2015. Penny holds a Visiting Professorship at Southampton University in Electronics and Computer Science.

The Campbell Lecture is an event designed to celebrate and highlight the high quality of women scientists, both internationally and at Southampton, at all stages of their careers.

The event will start with a buffet lunch from 13:30 on Wednesday 14 March in the foyer of the Nightingale Building (B67) outside Lecture Theatre (1027), Highfield Campus. The lecture will follow at 14:30 and will conclude with a wine reception from 16:00.

We will also be announcing the winners of the annual WiSET awards at the event.
