The Catalyst Challenge is an annual one-day business competition open to both our UG and PG students. The challenge is organised by our Student Enterprise Team, in collaboration with the University of Southampton Science Park.
Taking place on Wednesday 7 March from 09:00 – 18:00, you must also attend a mandatory training day on the afternoon of Wednesday 28 February in order to take part.
You can apply through the MyCareer webpage (deadline Thursday 22 February).
On the day itself, you’ll work as part of a team to solve a commercial challenge at the Science Park in Chilworth (transport will be provided). Your team will pitch a solution to a panel of business experts.
By taking part in this challenge, you’ll gain insights and advice that will help you to become a better leader and collaborator, as well as develop your creativity and communication skills.
Sarah Rogers, Head of Student Enterprise, commented:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain hands on experience. These challenges, which businesses face, enable you to realise some your entrepreneurial potential in a unique environment.”
An experience like this will impress prospective employers from all sectors. If you’re planning to set up your own business, it will help prepare you for what is required to achieve a successful start-up.
Whether you have experience in enterprise or not – all students are encouraged to apply. All members of the winning team will receive Amazon vouchers.
