The University has launched two exciting design competitions where winners could win a £200.00 cash prize!
Winning design from last year’s competition
Competition 1: Student artwork competition
The focus of this competition is to find an original piece of student artwork that can be recreated as a print. The artwork should depict an outside space on one of our campuses or Halls of Residence that is significant to you. You could paint or draw your chosen space at any time of year; think the Red Brick during the Christmas market or the Valley Gardens in Spring – the possibilities are endless!
The winner will receive a £200.00 prize as well as the opportunity to have their design produced as part of a limited run. The design will be used by the University as a promotional item and sold through our online store and on the Graduation gift stand. The winner will also receive three of the finished prints.
Entrants should submit one design as a JPEG, which is accompanied by a short explanation (no more than 100 words) on where the space is, and why it’s important to you.

Competition 2: Tie design competition
The focus of this competition is to find an original design to accompany our existing crest silk tie, which is primarily sold at Graduation.
The winner will receive a £200.00 prize as well as the opportunity to have their design produced as part of a limited run. The design will be used by the University as a promotional item and sold through our online store and Graduation gift stand. The winner will also receive three of the finished ties.
Entrants should submit one design that is be accompanied by a short explanation (no more than 100 words) on what inspired the design, and how it is linked to the University.
The winner must be able to supply the design using this template provided by James Morton (our tie supplier), as well as provide the pantone reference numbers and weave for the design as in this example provided.
