The University is calling for applications for the British Science Association Media Fellowship scheme which gives scientists, clinicians and engineers the chance to work for a media organisation like the Guardian or the BBC.
The chosen Media Fellow will be mentored by a professional journalist and will learn how the media operates and reports on science. They will also gain valuable knowledge on how to communicate with the media and how to engage with the wider public science arena.
After the placement, Fellows are invited to the British Science Festival in September, which provides an opportunity to work alongside a range of media organisations from the UK in a dedicated press centre.
One applicant will be chosen to be the official Fellow.
The University will provide full salary-replacement costs for the duration of the Fellowship and more information can be found here.
