Students and staff are invited to take part in the Festival of Doctoral Research. Book your tickets using the event specific links below.
Organised by the Doctoral College, the Festival will run from Tuesday 8 May to Thursday 24 May, and will showcase and celebrate the University’s doctoral researchers. There will be over 20 events running during the three-week Festival period to bring the research and wider University community together, including:
• Bake your PhD: Back by popular demand, Bake Your PhD is a cake design competition for Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs). The goal? To bake a cake (or other baked good) that visually portrays the topic and findings of your PhD!
• Doctoral College Director’s Award: Nominations are now open for the Doctoral College Director’s Awards, recognising PGRs for exceptional achievements beyond their research project.
• Doctoral Research Showcase: Come and learn more about the exciting cross-discipline doctoral research going on across our University. Meet our researchers, explore posters and exhibits, and take part in hands-on activities.
• Research Image Competition: Entries are now open for our ‘Get your PhD noticed’ themed photography competition.
• Hands-on your PhD: Get ‘hands-on’ with your PhD. PhDs are often theoretical, complex and conceptual. Explore how physical props might help you explain the work you do. This event features free Lego!
Plus many more.
