Improving services across our Common Learning Spaces

Through a series of interviews and discussions with our students and staff, iSolutions has identified a need to improve the consistency of service provided by Common Learning Spaces (CLS) across our University.

To help resolve issues, such as faulty equipment, iSolutions has increased the number of people employed to check CLS rooms across our campuses. These staff check the general state of equipment, fixtures, and furniture.

There are now an additional three checkers overall for the Highfield Campus, Avenue Campus, and Boldrewood Campus, to allow rooms to be checked if they weren’t available the evening before.

Once checkers have been employed for the National Oceaonography Centre Southampton (NOCS) and the Winchester School of Art (WSA) campuses, for the first time, there will be one checker each at these campuses and the Southampton General Hospital (SGH) campus respectively. This will help to provide our students and staff with a more consistent and improved CLS experience.

If you’re interested in becoming a CLS checker for the National Oceanographic Centre Southampton Campus (NOCS) or the Winchester School of Art Campus (WSA), please email Milosz Gaczkowski at: [email protected]. This position pays £8.21 per hour and involves two hours of work per evening from Monday to Friday.

Please note, iSolutions is unable to check the entirety of the University’s estate as frequently as it would like, therefore students and staff are reminded to take responsibility in returning rooms to the correct state after use.
