The Confucius Institute is delighted to be offering free Mandarin and Chinese Calligraphy courses for beginners.
From Monday 14 May – Thursday 14 June, courses will run from 18:00 – 19:00 Monday to Thursday each week.
Both courses are aimed at those with no prior knowledge of the Chinese language, and will focus on teaching you the basics in terms of language as well as culture.
Below you’ll find a brief description of each course, as well as dates:
Mandarin for Beginners (every Monday and Wednesday) taught by Mr Liao Yu. You will learn:
- Pronunciation
- Basic expressions
- Chinese characters
Chinese Calligraphy (every Tuesday and Thursday) taught by Miss Lin. You will learn:
- The history of the Chinese characters you will be writing
- Basic calligraphy strokes
- Chinese characters
- Your name in Chinese
