Health and Safety held a number of events throughout the month of March highlighting Women’s Health Matters.
Beverley Bennett was presented an Amazon voucher by Chief Operating Officer Ian Dunn.
The events involved five educational talks on women’s health, giving information about conditions that affect women and the associated symptoms. Over 300 staff and students attended the sessions with many positive comments, such as:
“Absolutely loved this series of presentations, exactly what Southampton University should offer.”
“Really pleased the University is dealing with this difficult subject [menopause] openly.”
Health and Safety give their thanks to all those who gave up their time to give talks and presentations:
- Julia Sinclair, University of Southampton, presented the link between health and alcohol consumption.
- Yvonne Middlewick, University of Southampton, discussed the menopause.
- Donna Hubbard of Be Dynamic Coaching & Training, gave a talk on self-mastery.
- Joh Leek from CoppaFeel educated about breast health
- Karen Hobbs and Tracie Miles, The Eve Appeal discussed gynaecological health.

Thank you to Sport and Wellbeing who carried out over 100 fitness tests. All of the people who completed a fitness assessment as part of the Women’s Health Matters month were entered into a raffle, and Beverley Bennett was the lucky winner of the Amazon voucher prize.
