EU/EEA and Swiss Nationals: reminder of 31 July deadline for claiming back registration certificate costs

EU/EEA and Swiss National colleagues are reminded that they have until 31 July 2018 to claim back costs of applying for Registration Certificates and Permanent Residence Documents should they wish to.

Colleagues are asked to submit their claim form by 1 July 2018 to allow for processing and payment before the cut-off date.

The University offered this support for one financial year following a series of well-attended training and information sessions provided by KPMG for our EU colleagues. A Staff Support Network was also set up to further support affected colleagues.

Now that the Government has issued greater clarity on the expected treatment of EU/EEA/Swiss National citizens after Brexit, the University will be ceasing reimbursement for the Registration Certificate and Permanent Residence Documents.

Claims for reimbursement must be made using this claim form, submitted to Geraldine Witt, Building 26, Room 2015, or scanned via email to [email protected]. Claims must be accompanied by receipts for payments made, in the name of the employee.

More information about the Registration Certificates and Permanent Residence Documents can be found here.

The EU Staff Support Network, chaired by Bruno Linclau and Diego Gomez-Nicola, continues to operate and will advise colleagues as and when there are any further announcements from the Government.
