Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and based at Southampton, NCRM seeks to increase the quality and range of methodological approaches used by social scientists through its training and research programme.
The 2018 RMF will be the eighth biennial festival, engaging social scientists from a wide range of disciplines and from different stages of their careers.
There will be over 58 sessions and 200 presentations on offer, as well as activities and lively discussion about established research methods and new developments in social science research.
Keynote speakers include Professor Danny Dorling (University of Oxford), Professor Donna Mertens (Gallaudet University, Washington D.C.) and Professor Nancy Cartwright (University of Durham).
Professor Patrick Sturgis, Director of NCRM, says:
“The Research Methods Festival is ESRC’s showcase event for social scientists to come together and discuss the latest innovations in research methods. We’ve got an excellent programme of speakers and activities this year, covering a diverse range of methodological perspectives and approaches.”
