Applications invited for New Director of Faculty Operations role

As part of the work to deliver the new Faculty structure from 1 August 2018, the University has been considering the leadership of our Faculty Operating Service (FOS).

See our previous SUSSED post about the Faculty Operating Service here.

An important aim of the restructure is increased consistency across the University and the reduction of unnecessary complexity. To support this ambition, we have created a new Director of Faculty Operations role.

The FOS works in partnership with other Professional Services, Faculties and the wider University and is the key administrative and operational professional services team within each of the Faculties.

The Director of Faculty Operations will work in collaboration with the Deans and other Professional Services Directors to support the delivery of the strategic vision, objectives and business plans for each of the new faculties.

This role will line manage the five new Faculty Managers, who in turn manage the FOS within the new faculties. Currently, the FOS teams report into the Heads of Faculty Operations (HoFOs), who report into their respective Dean.

Reporting into Ian Dunn, Chief Operating Officer, the post-holder will provide strategic leadership for the Faculty Operating Service, improve development opportunities for Faculty Managers and represent the service on the University’s Professional Service Leadership Group.

More information about the new Director of Faculty Operations role, including the job description, can be found here.

Please note that this role is only being advertised internally and the closing date for applications is Friday 29 June. Interviews will take place on Monday 9 July.
