As part of the Global Partnerships Award Series, the Global Visiting Fellowships Scheme enables distinguished visiting staff from the University’s priority partner institutions to collaborate on a range of research and profile-raising activities over a three-year period.
Funding is still available for global visiting fellows to start in 2018-19. The International Office is now accepting applications. This second round of applications will close on 21 September 2018.
For information about the application process and a list of eligible partners, visit the International Office’s groupsite page and follow #UoSPartners.
We are delighted to welcome our first visiting fellow under the Global Visiting Fellowships Scheme, Professor Emad Khalil this summer. Emad plans to use the fellowship to strengthen research links between Southampton’s Maritime Archaeology institute and his own Archaeology department at the University of Alexandria, Egypt.
Professor Mark Spearing, Vice-President for Research and Enterprise, commented:
“The Global Visiting Fellowship scheme offers our academics a fantastic opportunity to develop international research links. We welcome new applications to collaborate with individuals and groups from the University’s priority partner institutions.”
The Global Visiting Fellowship is the successor-scheme to the Diamond Jubilee Visiting Fellowship, which has funded a total of 29 Fellows from institutions in ten countries.
