Thank you for supporting our Open Days

Our Open Days on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 July were a big success and we would like to take the opportunity to thank our community for their support.

Over 11,000 visitors, including prospective students and their guests, were welcomed to campus by our student ambassadors and staff, live music from our student bands, and not forgetting our first ever Open Day blimp!

Our President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Christopher Snowden commented:

“I want to thank everyone who worked hard to make this year’s Open Days on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 July such a success. The overall preparation meant that the presentation over the two days was extremely well received by our visitors – many of whom told me how welcoming they felt the University was and that they had a very positive impression.

“It was great to see our current students, Students’ Union, academic and professional services colleagues, including our grounds and catering teams, working together to create an outstanding experience for our prospective students and guests. Open Day events are very demanding in terms of effort, but they are so important in attracting students and creating an excellent impression of our University.

“I am very grateful to our University community for coming together to showcase what Southampton has to offer. ”

Our 360° video booth gained a lot of attention from our guests as they could experience our campus and the city from a virtual viewpoint.

Big thanks to our community for all their support and for playing such important roles in making our Open Days an ongoing success.
