Celebration at the Centre for Cancer Immunology

Last week the Centre for Cancer Immunology held a series of special celebratory events to show some of its biggest supporters round the new state-of-the-art building and to demonstrate how it will enable us to increase the pace and scale of our cancer immunology research.

Supporters were treated to a tour around the Clinical Trials Unit, the new inter-disciplinary space and the cutting-edge laboratories. In the final event, President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Christopher Snowden and Chief Operating Officer, Ian Dunn welcomed the campaign’s biggest donors while Professor Tim Elliott talked through his vision for the new Centre.

Professor Tim Elliott said:

“When we buried the time capsule here two years ago, I said I believe we will find a cure for cancer in this building. Standing in the Centre here today, I feel even more strongly that is true.”

At the event, the campaign team showed a powerful video, featuring inspiring stories from patients, news about clinical trials and more information about the new Cancer Immunology Talent Fund, set up to continue to support the people in the Centre to further their life-saving research.
