The full details of the lecture, organised in collaboration with the ESRC Centre for Population Change at the University, are outlined below.
Lecture title: “Fairness between the generations: what is the problem and what do we do about it”.
Date and time: Friday 12 October at 14:15
Location: The Cube, Building 42 (B42), Highfield Campus
The synopsis:
“The Pinch, published in 2010 argued that the post War Baby Boomers had achieved incomes and wealth which it was going to be hard for the younger generation to enjoy. Since his book came out David Willetts has served as universities minister introducing controversial changes to university funding – are they in the interests of the younger generation or not? He has also chaired the Resolution Foundation’s Intergenerational Commission and will set out their policy proposals to offer a fair deal to the younger generation.”
