We’re pleased to announce that our University has improved its international ranking for graduate employability.
The QS Graduate Employability Rankings aim to assess the quality of employment offered to students, as well as each university’s business network and the global graduate market’s perception of institutions, employment rates and the quality of alumni outcomes.
When these rankings were first published two years ago, we placed within the 101-150 band. As more institutions were included in the ranking, QS introduced more granularity of the bands. In 2018, we were placed in the 131-140 band, before continuing our improvement this year to now rank between 111-120. Only the first 100 universities ranked by QS receive a specific numeric rating.
QS used five indicators to map the employability potential of graduates from universities around the world including employer’s reputation, alumni outcomes, partnership with employers per faculty, employer-student connection and graduate employment rate. Southampton’s highest scores this year are for the graduate employment rate, partnerships with employers and employer-student connections. Access the full table to find out more
Our University recognises the importance for students to gain meaningful work experience whilst studying. To acknowledge the valuable contribution that organisations and individuals make to students’ future employability, our Careers and Employability Centre holds the annual Employability Excellence Awards Ceremony.
We’ll share more info on the awards, which were held earlier this month, on SUSSED soon so watch this space.
