Tomorrow, Friday 5 October, the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards 2018 will be taking place at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton.
The Awards cover 12 separate categories, highlighting and celebrating the outstanding achievements of our staff.
Today we look at the final three award categories: Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Career Achievement and Student Experience.
Award category: Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
An employee or team who has contributed to enhancing opportunities for people from diverse groups and created a more inclusive culture in their faculty, department and the wider University.

The PhD Researchers Team. (The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences).
Award category: Career Achievement.
An employee with more than 20 years of unparalleled service to the University who, throughout their career, has made exceptional contributions to the success of their department and the University, who has earned the respect of their peers, and whose efforts have defined what it means to be part of the community.

Katherine de Retuerto. (Development and Alumni Relations).
The Grounds Team. (A joint nomination between Estates and Facilities and Student Services).
Nicholas Gates. (Library).
Award category: Student Experience.
An employee or a team whose efforts have helped our students to succeed and become confident thinkers who realise their full potential, delivering an exemplary student experience, promoting and supporting a culture of diversity and collegiality on our campuses.

Dr Graham Baxendale. (The Faculty of Social Sciences).
The CORMSIS Industrial Liaison Officers Team. (The Faculty of Social Sciences).
The Student Life Team. (Student Services).
The winners will be announced live on Twitter from 19:00 on Friday 5 October and full details of the night will be available via SUSSED on Monday 8 October.
