For researchers: New Open Access fee application process

Our University’s libraries are making a new electronic application form available for ‘Gold’ (paid) Open Access (OA) Article Processing Charges (APC).

There is no longer any need to download or attach the form to an email. The new form is web-based and goes directly to the Gold Team in the Library for approval.

All researchers, funded by the UK Research and Innovation and Charity Open Access Fund, can apply for APCs to be paid by the Library. If you have another funding body or if you’re self-funding, you can submit a form with your sub-project code and the Library will process the fees for you.

You can find the form on the Library research web-pages in the box titled ‘Applying for Article Processing Charges’ (APCs).

There are also discounts and other deals with publishers available. For more information visit the Library website. If you have any questions, please contact: [email protected]

Don’t have the funds to make your research Gold Open Access? Submit your accepted manuscript to Pure and the Library will make it Green Open Access in ePrints Soton at the end of the embargo date!
