With the colder weather approaching, please see the below reminder about the on-site district heating system which has been installed at our University.
The innovative system, which feeds hot water to radiators across Highfield campus, works by adjusting the heat output automatically according to outside temperature. We would be grateful for your help in managing this system effectively.
If the radiator in your area has its own control valve, please ensure that the control is kept at mid-range, usually at ‘3’, so that the flow of heating water reaches all parts of the University at the right level.
So that we don’t waste this valuable heat, please do not open your window on cold days when the heating is on, which would actually increase the radiator’s output.
If you feel your room is too cold, please log a request on Planon and this will be investigated.
If you have any questions, please contact the Energy Team: [email protected].
