We previously communicated the interim arrangements that were put in place to ensure Faculty Academic Registrars (FARs) aligned with our new five-faculty structure in a way that minimised disruption over the crucial months leading to the 2018-19 academic year.
From 1 November 2018, the new FARs are:
- Faculty Academic Registrar for Arts & Humanities – Jackie Ward
- Faculty Academic Registrar for Engineering & Physical Sciences – Lesley Adams
- Faculty Academic Registrar for Environmental & Life Sciences – Jenny Atkins
- Faculty Academic Registrar for Medicine – Frances Nyland
- Faculty Academic Registrar for Social Sciences – Nasseem Fazel-Hamedani
In addition to the confirmed FARs, the following posts have also been finalised:
- Head of Student Discipline – Gina Armfield (working alongside the Head of Academic Appeals and Student Complaints within the Quality, Standards and Accreditation Team.
- Associate Director Student and Academic Administration (SAA) – Roz Stanton (FARs line manager).
Briony Thomson (interim Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences FAR) will be retiring at the end of November, after having worked for the University for 11 years.

Over the coming months the SAA Directorate, FARs and Registry Managers will examine the work undertaken by SAA, to ensure that the best possible support continues to be provided to both students and the new faculties.
