Following Jane Savidge’s retirement in July 2018, a recruitment search for our next Director of Library and Arts has now taken place.
We’re pleased to announce that Anna O’Neill has been appointed to this important role, and will take up her new post on 2 January 2019.

Anna will be joining us from the University of Chichester, where she is currently responsible for the strategic leadership and development of the University’s Learning and Information Services. Having worked at Chichester since 2010, Anna has also previously held senior roles within the health, legal, business and museums sectors.
Commenting on her appointment, Anna said:
“I am delighted to be appointed as the new Director of Library and Arts Strategy.
“It will be a huge privilege to lead the University of Southampton’s renowned and significant library service and to work with colleagues across the University and beyond to deliver the ambitions of the University’s arts strategy.”
