Healthy Choices – Alcohol Awareness Week

For many of us, especially at this time of year, alcohol is a big part of our lives. We drink to celebrate, to socialise, to wind down, and sometimes as a coping mechanism. It’s legal and socially acceptable, but sometimes, drinking can become an expectation rather than a choice.

Alcohol Awareness Week, which runs from 19 25 November, encouraging healthier choices around alcohol consumption.

The campaign theme this year is ‘Change’.

Change is happening – Millions of us are choosing to drink more healthily or to stop drinking altogether.

Personal change – What might that mean to you? Drinking more mindfully, cutting down, or maybe a bigger change, like getting help to stop drinking.

Changing drinking cultures – as the Christmas party season approaches, do all the workplace social events revolve around alcohol?

Use Alcohol Awareness Week to choose to make a change together.

Knowing your units is one way to make informed choices. For tips to reduce the amount you drink, myth busters and helpful apps, follow the link to Alcohol Concern’s webpages, to help you make an informed choice.
