Changes to how student marks are available online

We’re making some changes to simplify access to student marks.  From the end of November, marks will no longer be available through eFolio for the majority of students and staff.

What will this mean?

Your marks will be available by logging into My Student Record (Banner Self Service) – you can access this through SUSSED.  We’ve also provided links in eFolio on the appropriate pages for you to click through and log into Banner.

Why have we made this change?

We are doing this to simplify our systems and ensure that students and staff are seeing the same marks at the same time. Marks are available in Banner after defined periods set out in the Release of Marks Procedure in the Quality Handbook.  Removing marks from eFolio means we have a single source of marks that we know are being made available to students and staff at the right time, eliminating the potential for confusion.

Who can still see marks in eFolio?

Students and staff in the Faculty of Medicine will still be able to see marks in eFolio so that NHS practitioners who aren’t University staff can retain access to marks. Work will continue in order to bring this in line with the rest of the University.

Will I still be able to see marks in eAssignment or Blackboard?

Yes, where you’ve submitted assignments through these systems which have been marked online, your initial mark will still be visible in these systems. Please be aware that any changes to this mark (e.g. removal of penalties as a result of Special Considerations) will only appear in Banner Self Service.
