The appraisal window for all level 4-6 staff will be open from 1 January 2019 to 31 May 2019. Level 4-6 appraisal meetings can be set in the diary now ready for the New Year, to allow both the appraiser and appraisee time to prepare. Quality face-to-face appraisal conversations help to maximise contribution and potential by:
- reviewing contribution in the year up to 31 December 2018
- considering your personal development and career aspirations
- agreeing objectives for 2019
Training – Advance Notice
Appraisal training is mandatory for new appraisers and those who have not previously completed ‘Licence to Appraise’. The training has been revisited and the enhanced ‘Appraising with Confidence’ workshop has a range of dates available for appraisers to book early via Staffbook. This practical workshop supports all aspects of appraisal; from how to prepare, holding meaningful two-way conversations and providing impactful feedback.
Enhanced eLearning for Appraisers and Appraisees will be available from the mid to end of January. The eLearning can be completed as a refresher and also forms the pre-course work for the Appraising with Confidence workshop.
Recording Appraisals
The appraisal discussion should be recorded in the online appraisal form in MyHR Dashboard.
Exactly the same as in previous years, level 4-6 appraisees will have two forms:
- One form dated 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2018, to record contribution against last year’s objectives; and
- One form dated 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019, to record agreed objectives for the year ahead.
